This directory holds 996 startup ideas in India, each researched for Indian buyers, Indian rules and Indian costs. Every idea has its own page covering the problem, the customer, the capital needed, the launch time, the main risks and the sources behind each fact.

How this directory works

Each idea page comes with a free validation kit. The kit is a short set of steps and questions to test demand before you spend real money.

A quick word on names. The startup names are fictional and the ideas are hypothetical businesses, but the facts on each page, such as rules, market figures and named schemes, are real and linked to their sources. Where a fact could not be sourced, the page says so.

What these ideas have in common

They're built around a specific buyer with a specific problem. Duepaid helps small suppliers get paid on time by large buyers. Parcelroom runs a staffed parcel room for big housing societies. Gapfinder is a paper-first test that shows which earlier-grade skills each child is missing. Every estimate is a range, and capital is shown in rupees.

How to choose

Here's how I'd use it -

  • Start with the lists below. Filter by budget, launch time, customer or industry, then open the pages that fit.
  • Shortlist three ideas, not one. Compare their buyers, risks and capital side by side.
  • Download the validation kit for your top pick and run it before you quit a job or raise money.
  • Pick a problem you understand from your own work. Domain knowledge shortens every step, and it's the closest thing to an unfair advantage you'll get.
